FREE Tips to Help Increase Your Business
Posted on April 26, 2011 by dwms
Grow Your Business For Free!
Business Growth-
Thank you for the overwhelming response to my last newsletter. You guys
are the best clients in the world. I appreciate you and I want you to
succeed.
You know how I feel about search engine optimization. But I totally
understand that some of you are not able to afford the service yet and
that you are in a growth mode.
So I put together some tips to help you get more traffic for FREE!
Please take five minutes and read tis article all the way through. You
may find one tip that could bring you more traffic and more customers!
Many times we just want to do fun and artistic things, but you can't
stay in business and make more money if you don't market. You are no
different than Apple Computers. They became a massively successful
company by marketing and advertising.
Many times people with crappy products gets more business than us
because they market smarter and more often than we do. Let's get smart
and market more so we can make more so that we can do more of the
things we love and spend more time with those we love.
Website 101 - Just The Beginning
You had a logo made. You have finished making your own website. You
have introduced your company and presented your products and services.
You have added offers and promos to catch your target audiences'
attention. You have achieved the dos and don'ts of building your
company web site.
But why isn't your website pulling in more customers and making more
wealth for you during this crazy economically downturn? Remember,
building your web site is the beginning of doing business. SEO,
marketing and advertising is where you will get your bread and butter
from .
Maybe need to do more promotions of your actual web site or blog. Here
are some guidelines on how to acquire free web site promotions to help
improve company's success.
How To Grow Your Web Business
There are many ways for your web site to be seen. Here are some free
web site promotions you could try until you find the most effective.
FREEBIES
*Free promotions such as search engines and directories would give your
web site the deserved traffic you always wanted. Make sure to check
your web site is ranking to know whether or not this type of free
promotion is right for you.
*Make a deal with other web sites on trading links, which could help
both web sites. Make sure to use words that could easily interest the
audience.
*Find free classified ads that could boost the promotion of your web
site. Other people who you are not targeting for, but may as well be
interested in your services could see these ads.
*Free and low-cost Internet banners are spread all through out the
World Wide Web. Banners that pop-up at the top of a page or in a
separate window would automatically catch your target audiences'
attention.
*Joint Venture - Trade email adveritisng with a complimentary but not
competing web site or company. You send an offer to their list and they
send an offer to your email list. You both get to adveritise to new
customers and increase your sales. The operative word here is
Complimentary...NOT your competition!
If your web site and its free promotions don't work, do the following.
Track down all visitors by collecting their email addresses, review
advertisements, and analyze transactions. Maybe if there was a better
offer such as buy 2 get one free or something like that, you could have
sold more. Or maybe a free gift of something that is inexpensive for
you to offer when they buy an item. Anything that is enticing to make
them buy more usually increases total sales volume.
You know how much we all like a sale!
Then try to analyze why those who visited your web site did not use
your service or purchase your products.
It has always been said that the best things in life are free. Yes they
are. And as soon as your free web site promotion proves to the audience
your value and worth to them, then your free methods will pay off.
Stay On It
If you have started to promote your web site, keep it constant. If you
promote your site with persistence, week after week, it will catch your
audiences' attention.
Be Patient.
Try each method in promotion until you acquire the best, free promotion
there is. You have to accept trial and error for your web site to reach
the top.
Marketing is telling and selling. The more you do, the more time you
will have to take vacations and enjoy life.
Vacation-

SEO Results - Tracking the Results of Internet Marketing
skiboarder-crazyrail
As with any marketing campaign you may run to assist your business, it
is important to track the results of your Internet marketing campaign.
This should be done on a continual basis so you can ensure the
strategies you are utilizing are working. It can also help you to
determine when a strategy is not working so you do not continue to
invest time and money on a strategy that is not beneficial to your
business.
This success story is to demonstrate how one tactic of SEO, Search
Engine Optimization generated outstanding results.
Google, the largest and most influential search engine on the internet
has changed how they allow businesses to be ranked (visible on first
page). They are favoring educational sites over commerce (business)
sites. It has totally changed the game in your ability to be seen by
people looking for your product.
It's About The Traffic
You can have the most beautiful, tactical, product exclusivity or
cool Website ever, but if you don't have visitors (customers), it
doesn't matter. I get calls from clients who are upset they are not
selling much merchandise and they want me to redo their web site.
In all honesty, some of the tackiest, old web sites on the internet are
doing thousands of dollars a month still because they are ranked high
in the search engines and have the ability to be seen by thousands of
potential buyers each week.
The internet is evolving; we must evolve with it or get left out of the
market. Look at Netflix and video stores. Five years ago, you could
rent any movie you liked at your local video store. Now you get them
delivered as DVD'S or straight download to your inbox on your computer.
The same is happening with web sites, blogs, online stores and all of
internet marketing.
Here's a brilliant example of the power of the exclusive program I have
been privileged to be a part of. Due to the complicated process that
was designed, it is only offered to select web masters of whom I am
honored to have been selected. This program is generally only available
to Market giants like Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon and other large
companies.
Alpine Ski & Sport - SEO Winner This Month
Alpine Ski and Sport is a small quaint ski rental and fishing guide
company located in the mountains of Colorado. They have been my client
for three years. They have to compete with the sophisticated ski rental
companies located in Colorado. We started their SEO program five weeks
ago.
Before we started they were not listed in the search engines for any of
their keywords. You could not find them anywhere.
I did my magic & secret exclusive big company SEO program for them for
a fraction of the cost of what the big guys pay. First I had them
choose the key words that they wanted to use. They did that and sent
them to me. Then did the rest of the process myself. I did not use a
service in India like most the others use who don't understand common
english.
Here are their results now!
Keywords - Leadville Ski Rental - Ranks in the #5 and #6 spot on the
FRONT PAGE of Google.
Keywords - Ski & Snowboard Rental Leadville - Ranks # 5 and #6 spot on
the FRONT PAGE of Google.
This feels like Vegas to me, except I know now that everyone will win!
1,000% Increase in Bookings!
They said this is the best season they ever had. They sold out of ski
rental equipment for the first time ever!!! They had a one thousand
percent increase in bookings! I am so happy for them. They are a
family of four trying to make a living in a small town so they can
raise their daughters in a wholesome environment.
To help them achieve that is cannot be measured in dollars.
Congratulations Melissa and Tim.
New Day, New Tools
As your business grows and evolves, consider budgeting some SEO dollars
monthly in the future.
I want everyone to succeed in this down economy. That is why I am
constantly on the lookout for strategies and ideas that help us all to
grow and be competitive.
We are in this for the long haul. Many of us need to make our total
living on the internet, so we have to be smart, plan ahead and be
winners together.
Email me if you have any questions!

More SEO Changes Ahead...
Posted on March 31, 2011 by dwms
So what are these major changes?
It's more like what weren't the major changes. There were more game
changing search engine events between October 2010 and March 2011 than
there had been in the previous decade combined. Let's look at a few of
the biggest:
Number One: Bing Joins Forces with Yahoo!
In late October 2010, Bing and Yahoo! made good on their long-standing
threat (or promise) to unite - at least as far as rankings go. Now
Yahoo!, which has about 22% of the search market volume, displays
nearly identical listings to Bing. Because Bing already had about 11%
of the search market's volume, Bing and Yahoo! combined now control a
full third or more of the search market.
So how does this affect you? Well, in the past many people did not
bother optimizing for Bing because it accounted for so little of the
actual search space. For those people, the money they spent optimizing
for Yahoo! is gone with no return on investment in sight, and they have
to start fresh with Bing. That is a big deal.
What Do Do: Start paying more attention to getting ranked on Bing. Some
of the more important things on Bing are:
* Good titles that include your three most important keywords and
your company name (optional) separated by pipes (Keyword 1 |
Keyword 2 | Keyword 3 | Company Name).
* Descriptions that contains your three most important keywords.
* Making sure each keyword appears on the written page about two to
three times for every one hundred words, but no more than six times
on a page.
* Another big deal is SEO friendly URLs. So if your keyword was
"search engine friendly" this would be a great URL :
domain/search-engine-friendly.html.
Number Two: Google Goes from Global to Local
For more than a decade Google has been proudly making the world seem
smaller and smaller by being "the global search engine". Now, it wants
to be the "local search engine". To accomplish this it has made all
kinds of changes. One of the first, and biggest, was moving the Google
Places '7-pack' listings from the upper right corner (where most people
ignored them) to be integrated right into the main search results
(where no one could miss them!) Welcome to Google's latest and greatest
"Place Search".
What does this mean to you? It means that if you do not have a Google
Places listing claimed, your nearest local competitors will be eating
your lunch online when local customers find them instead of you at the
top of page one search results within Google Place Search.
What To Do: Visit "places.google/business" to claim your free
Google Places listing. When you do, complete the listing as close to
100% as possible and then try to get some feedback posted. This will go
a long way toward getting the best results from your local search
engine optimization efforts.

How NOT To Hire A SEO Company - SEO Magic
Posted on March 27, 2011 by dwms
The other day I received an email letting me know that they could not
find my website in the search engines, but if I reply back to them,
they can make it happen. Through some form of SEO Magic my web site can
be ranked in the search engines nearly overnight, and wait, if the
spell doesn't work, they've got an answer why and it is probably my
fault.
The truth about beginner seo is this: it takes skill, it takes time, it
takes persistence, it takes a grasp of the English language, and it
takes experience. Please, whatever you do:
1. Do Not hire an SEO firm that solicited you via email promising to
get you found overnight.
2. Do Not hire purchase the $19.95 SEO package that will skyrocket you
and your business to the top of the search engine rankings
3. Lastly, Do Not accept the SEO cold call: there are many companies
cold calling trying to sell unsuspecting business owners on Paid local
search.
My best advice here, do a quick Google search on their company and see
if:
A.) You can find them in the search engines and
B.) How many complaints are there about them.
Be wary of the SEO Professional you choose, get a referral if possible
and do your homework on them. Ask to see real time results, and
searches you can do to verify those results live in your web browser.
There are good professionals out there, and companies that can help
you achieve a top ranking, but there are many more that are willing to
simply take your money and give you no results.

How Choose THE Best Keywords For Your Website
Posted on March 3, 2011 by dwms
Visible or Invisible: The Importance of Using the Right Keywords In
Your Optimization Program
YOUR KEY WORDS AND OPTIMIZATION PROGRAM CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOUR WEB
TRAFFIC!
Millions of People use search engines every second of the day to find
information on everything they need like pharmaceutical drugs, clothes,
travel, entertainment events, appliances, every type of gadget known on
the planet, various types of shops, repair services, restaurants, real
estate agents, attorneys and gyms just to name a few.
To get information, they simply type words in the search box to get a
list of resources that are related to what they are looking for
If your website contains the exact keywords or phrases that people use,
then your website will be included in the search results page.
Therefore, aside from improving your search engine ranking, you must
also use target keywords in your website content.
A crucial strategy in optimizing their looking, specific words are
typed into a search engine and those words are referred to as keywords
or key phrases.
Why should you, an internet marketer be interested in this?
Because the keywords you choose to use in your optimization program can
be the difference between the potential for your web site being seen by
millions or no one with a computer.
It's the difference between being a needle in a haystack or being the
big haystack.
How to use the right keywords and how you can find the right target
keywords when marketing your website.
This make seem simple, it's not. Search Optimization can help you or
hurt you. You have spent thousands on a Web Site (Online Store Front
or Office), you want customers to see what you have to offer.
Take some time and carefully consider the following suggestions on how
to effectively utilize keywords for your marketing program to drive
potential buyers to your website:
Use popular commonly used terms your customers use.
Think about common terms that your niche people are more likely to use
when looking for the particular item or information you offer.
Use target key phrases.
Instead of targeting singles words, you can also focus on using keyword
phrases. Choose words that are related to each other and that people
are most likely to enter in their searches. For instance, if you are in
the real estate business, instead of target the keyword "real estate",
you may also consider key phrases such as "cheap real estate deals",
"real estate agents", "real estate brokers", etc. Narrow it down so
that it is a match for your website.
Make your target keywords standout.
Once you have picked your target keywords or key phrases, make sure
that you use them all throughout your website including the links and
page titles. This way, search engines will be able to find your web
pages more easily.
Find keywords that are unique to your website.
It's also important sometimes to choose keywords with less competition.
Because there are other internet marketers that sell the same products
and services that you do, they may also be using the same keywords as
yours. You must look for unique keywords that are popularly used by
internet users. Work your marketing master on this one.
Use free Keyword finders on the web. To be able to determine the right
target keywords that are suitable for your online business, you can use
free keyword suggestion tools from the internet or purchase your own
keyword suggestion software.
By following the above internet marketing tips, you would surely be
able to maximize potential in marketing your website and improve your
search engine ranking.
If you sell retail items, the world is yours to reach with your unique
items. Choose the right key words and use my new proprietary system,
you can have global customers and fans.
Till Next Time, Stay Healthy and Stay Profitable!

Link Building Basics
Posted on August 4, 2008 by dwms
Today I have a special article for you from Jason Storm, an SEO link
building expert who has some great link building strategies for you.
Link Building Basics
Two of the three big search engines (Google and Yahoo) place a large
importance on one way links to determine rankings. Each link to your
site is like a vote and the more votes you have, the higher you will
rank.
In this article I will be sharing with you some important info on link
building and some strategies to help your one way link building.
Before we get started, it's important to understand the fundamentals...
Beginning with the very basics, a link is a way of navigating from one
webpage to another. An `internal link' is a link within the same
website. An `external link' takes you from a webpage in one website to
a webpage in another website. The term `backlink' means when another
website links to yours.
There are 4 different types of links:
------------------------------------
URL Link - This is simply a website url that is a link.
Text Links (aka static links) - This is the most common type of link
(when you click on a word or phrase and it is a link)
Image Links - An image link is simply an image that you click on to
navigate to another webpage.
Dynamic Links - These types of links are in another programming
language called Javascript and while they also take you from one
webpage to another, they have `extra codes' to perform special
functions.
(these types of links can appear in many different forms)
It is important to be able to recognize these types of links, even if
you are not familiar with web design and programming. You don't have to
memorize the codes, just learn to identify each type of link.
What types of links should you get?
------------------------------------
There are 2 types of links that you can get:
One-way links - A one-way link is when another website links to you and
you don't link back to them.
Reciprocal links - A reciprocal link is when a website links to you and
you link back to them.
One-way links are more valuable in the eyes of the search engines.
However, each link has its own individual value based on: how relevant
it is to your site, the text in and around the link, how much authority
the website that links to you has, etc.
Also, it's important to know that you can get links that have `no
value' in the eyes of the search engines, but they bring you hundreds
or thousands of targeted visitors...
Generally speaking, the more websites that link to you the better.
However, building links takes time and energy and if you focus on
getting `high-quality links', you will get a bigger return on your
investment. 50 high quality links can be much more valuable from a
search engine optimization perspective than 1000 `low quality links'.
What's a high quality link? - Links that brings you Page Reputation
(which shows the search engines that other related websites consider
you to be important), and links that give you PageRank. Sometimes both
at once, sometimes not...
To get high rankings on your website, you want to obtain links for
targeted keywords. For this reason it's necessary to start with Keyword
Research.
If your website is about "bird watching", the first step is to `do
keyword research' and find out which keyword you should aim for. While
you could just start getting text links for the keyword phrase "bird
watching", if no one is searching for that - you won't get any
visitors. There's no sense in ranking on the first page for a keyword
that no one is looking for.
Or, if there is a lot of competition for that keyword, you might want
to pick a "lower hanging fruit".
Another important part is making sure your page is optimized for the
keyword you are targeting. If you are focused on building one way links
to your site but the links have anchor text which doesn't even appear
on your page, you will likely be wasting your time. (I say likely
assuming that you have some competition for your targeted keywords, if
there is no competition then it doesn't matter).
In this case a site that has fewer one way links but much better
on-page optimization is likely to rank higher. Or maybe you are
building one way links to your site but they are just url links and not
anchor-text links. Another site that has less links than you but better
quality (anchor-text) will be likely to rank higher.
Ideally, you want to build a lot of one way links that have anchor text
which includes the primary and secondary keywords that your page is
optimized for. Google also uses Latent Semantic Indexing which (in a
nutshell) means that they study the synonyms of the keywords on your
page. This is to prevent spammers from just loading every second word
with their keywords. Their algorithm looks at all the words on your
page and how they relate to each other.
So, there's no sense in building one way links if your content is not
worthwhile. You want to optimize your pages for your visitors first.
Then, you can go through and "sprinkle" your keywords. Then, go out and
get one way links with the anchor-text of your targeted keywords,
ideally getting most of these links from websites that are related to
yours.
Yes, Google also looks at the relationship between your website's
content and the websites that link to your content. Fewer links to your
business site from other business sites will be more valuable link-wise
than more links coming to you from a site about video games..
Don't make these link building mistakes:
------------------------------------
Don't spend all your time getting one way links from sites with no Page
Rank. One or two links from related Page Rank 5+ sites can be worth
more than 100 links from sites with no PR.
Be careful about buying links or you can get banned. Especially be
careful about Site Wide links. If your website only has a few backlinks
one day and the next day you have hundreds, Google will see this and
penalize you.
Don't spend all your time building one way links that are url-links,
you want to get anchor-text links.
Make sure the links you get are actually worth something, don't get
"No-Follow" links.
Happy Link Building!

Designing/Re-designing A SEO Friendly Web Site
Posted on July 31, 2008 by dwms
Many of you are just starting out creating your first web site and
beginning your journey into internet e-commerce. I put together this
quick list for those of your just getting started of things to keep in
mind from a marketing perspective as you build your site. Keep in mind
that you can design the best looking award winning site but if you
don't have any traffic coming to the site you won't make any sales.
With that in mind keep these points in mind when creating or
redesigning your web site:
1. Create Search Engine-Friendly Content
-------------------------------------------
Be sure your site is full of Keyword Rich html text content that
pertains to the benefits of your web site product or service. Remember
that text embedded in images or Flash cannot be read, so make sure keep
your most important keywords in html text. Also try and use your
keywords as headings, and hyperlinks in plain text form. Graphical
buttons may be more appealing for your overall design but be sure to
include hyperlinks in the HTML text as well. Never try to hide keywords
or text by making it the same color as the page background or shrinking
it so it can't be seen. That can get you blacklisted! Make sure the
keywords you wish to rank high for are used frequently in the page copy
but not forced.
2. Choose Your Keywords Wisely
-------------------------------------------
This is one of the most important steps in SEO. First start by writing
down all the terms that you would type into a search engine if you were
looking for your web site, product or service. You can also use keyword
research services to investigate word and phrase variations.
Wordtracker, KeywordDiscovery, and the Google AdWords suggestion tool
are good starting points. (you can google those names to find the web
sites). Once you have a brainstorm list put together, then put those
keywords into an order of importance. These keywords should then be
used in your SEO for your site and in the visible text of your web site
where appropriate.
3. Get Others to Link to Your Site
-------------------------------------------
Backlinks are a major key to high search engine ranking these days. The
trick is to seek out web sites that have high page rank with Google and
then request link trades with those web sites. There is no short cut to
developing these backlinks. You have to diligently seek them out and
build those relationships. The more unique your site and content and
the more value you can provide to your link partner the more apt they
will be to trade with you.
* Stay away from link farms that say they will create hundreds of
backlinks to your site for you. Usually these pages have low page rank
and will not provide you with much value.
Here are some other areas to create back links:
* Submit to free press release services
* Submit to reputable business directories such as Yahoo! and
Business
* Create a free blog and link back to your main web site
* Ask your clients and business partners to link to your site.
* Participate in relevant forums and discussion boards with a link in
your signature
* Submit original articles to article directories
* Get involved in social media and bookmarking
These three points are a general guideline to follow when getting
started with your first web site, or when re-designing you existing
site. There is a TON more in my Dynamic Web Marketing Secrets E-book.

Choosing the Perfect Domain Name
Posted on July 17, 2008 by dwms
I got a ton of emails from people asking about how to choose a Domain
Name...so I had to expand a little on that last email with the
qualities that make up a great domain name.
Choosing a good domain name is vital to the success or failure of your
business. Just think about how important location is to an offline
business? If you do not have a good location, you are likely not going
to get many visitors. However if you set up a Ski Shop in the middle of
a desert, you're probably not going to get much walk in traffic. The
same holds true for a great domain name!
Here's how to choose a great domain name:
Easy to Remember
A good domain name must be easy to remember. A easy to remember domain
name helps to ensure that your customer will remember how to find you
when they get ready to buy. A great domain name is easy to remember and
straight forward to type. Avoid complexity and avoid initials when
possible.
The Shorter The Better
Twenty characters is the maximum that you should use for a good domain
name, ten is even better. A long and complicated domain name is not
going to help you. Your best bet is to keep it short and sweet. A great
domain name is less than ten characters; a good domain name is less
than twenty characters. A bad domain name goes over twenty characters.
If you love your long domain name, then consider purchasing a short
domain name that's easy to remember and a long one for search engine
optimization.
Choose The Right Extension
There are several domain extensions available to you such as
, , .tv, , .gov and so on. The domain name extension
is the best by far, because it is the most widely used and easiest for
someone to remember. In fact if you have a name someone will
usually type in by accident once in a while. A domain name is
typically used by not-for-profit organization and educational websites.
The extensions are generally used for informational websites.
Easy to Spell
A great domain name is easy to spell. USe only words that are easy to
pronounce, have a good combination of words or letters that are used in
every day language, and does not contain foreign words that may be
difficult to non-native speakers.
Describe the Benefit
A good domain name should be descriptive and tell the benefit of your
site or product. In other words, when your visitors, customers, or
potential customers see your domain name they should instantly be able
to tell what they are going to get or find on your site.
Don't Use Fancy Symbols
Try not to use hyphens or other special characters within your domain
name. Even if your domain name is memorable, many people will not pay
attention to or remember the symbols, which could lead them to someone
else's website AHHHHH!

Find other ZORGIUM pages using AZ.COM:
Enter your search keyword(s) into the search input field of
http://az.com
The zorgium specific results appear in the right hand margin.
Find other ZORGIUM pages using your favorite search engine:
Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of
http://bing.com,
http://yahoo.com or
http://google.com.
Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
DISCLAIMER: Zorgium is a free world-wide-web engine from AZ.COM. You may use it, but by doing so you agree that your use of other people's information discovered via our website is entirely your responsibility. Enjoy!
